The Accord Activist Wellbeing & Resilience System
Strengthening the long-term wellbeing, resilience, and sustainability of advocates and organisations within the animal protection movement.
Animal advocacy can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be emotionally demanding. Advocates often face burnout, isolation, compassion fatigue, limited resources, and the long-term pressures of working for change.
The Accord's Activist Wellbeing & Resilience Programme exists to help advocates and organizations build the support systems needed to thrive over the long term.
Because movements are only as strong as the people who sustain them.
Peer Support & Community
We create spaces where advocates can connect, share experiences, learn from one another, and find support from people who understand the realities of movement work.
Wellbeing & Organizational Resilience
We help organizations and leaders build healthier, more sustainable cultures that reduce burnout and support long-term impact.
Open Infrastructure
All wellbeing resources developed through the Accord are designed as open infrastructure.
This means organizations and individuals can freely access, adapt, translate, and share tools that strengthen wellbeing and resilience across the movement.
We believe support systems become stronger when they are built collectively and made available to everyone.
Users are also encouraged to share their adaptations, improvements, and new tools back with the Accord, so they can be reviewed, documented, and included in the shared system. In this way, the infrastructure continues to grow through collective contribution and lived experience from across the movement.
Who Can Participate?
Why It Matters
Advocacy is long-term work.
To create lasting change for animals, we need advocates and organizations that are healthy, connected, and able to sustain their efforts for years to come.
The Activist Wellbeing & Resilience Programme helps make that possible.
