Partnership and Funding
We are looking for partners who understand that a genuinely global movement must be built on the foundations of Global South leadership, not Global South participation.
Partnership as mutual commitment
The word partnership is used so freely in the development and advocacy worlds that it has almost lost its meaning. We use it carefully. A partnership with One Earth Accord is a commitment to a relationship of genuine mutuality: one in which both parties contribute, both parties benefit, and both parties are accountable to a shared set of values and goals.
We are not looking for donors who fund activities they have designed from afar. We are looking for funders who understand that the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution, and who are willing to resource the infrastructure that those people need to do their best work.
We are not looking for institutional partners who want to use our network for their own reach. We are looking for institutions who want to build something together that none of us could build alone.
How we can work together
Organisational Partnership
Become a formal Accord partner and gain access to all five core infrastructures, the full member network, and the thematic windows. Organisational partners contribute to shared governance and help shape the direction of the Accord.
- Full access to the Learning and Exchange Programme
- Listing in the Accord Index
- Participation in thematic advocacy windows
- Access to the Movement Resilience Hub
- Voice in strategic direction and governance
Funding Partnership
Fund the infrastructure of a genuinely Global South animal protection movement. We welcome funding partners who are committed to long-term institutional support rather than project-by-project transactional funding.
- Multi-year institutional funding options
- Programme-specific funding opportunities
- Regular reporting and impact documentation
- Engagement with the member network
- Co-learning opportunities with funded advocates
Institutional Partnership
Collaborate with the Accord network on research, evaluation, and knowledge generation that centres Global South perspectives and is designed to be useful to practitioners, not only to academics.
- Access to practitioner network for research
- Co-development of contextually relevant tools
- Publication of Global South-generated evidence
- Student placement and internship opportunities
- Joint capacity-building programmes
We ask these things of funders
- Long-term institutional funding over short-term project grants
- Trust in the expertise of Global South advocates to design their own programmes
- Willingness to fund core operations as well as visible activities
- Light-touch reporting requirements that respect organisational capacity
- Openness to genuine co-learning and shared accountability
- Commitment to equity in power, not just in rhetoric
